Porsche 993 Turbo
La 993 Turbo est un tournant technique. Cette version dispose du moteur boxer biturbo de 3,6 litres standard de 408 ch sans packs WLS. Première Turbo à transmission intégrale, elle permet de maîtriser la puissance du moteur refroidi par air sur la route.
La boîte manuelle à six rapports entraîne les quatre roues. La carrosserie large et l'aileron arrière fixe sont des nécessités fonctionnelles pour le refroidissement du moteur. Cette 993 Turbo du début de production reste le dernier fleuron refroidi par air aux performances modernes.
Détail intéressant : les rayons creux des jantes en aluminium réduisent le poids des roues pour un meilleur contact avec la route.
