The fifth generation Range Rover is built on the new MLA platform, which is 50 per cent stiffer than the outgoing model. The body is built entirely from aluminium. The P530 uses a 4.4 litre twin-turbo V8 from BMW, producing 530 ps and 750 Nm through a ZF eight-speed automatic to all four wheels. This example is the Long Wheelbase version, with a wheelbase 200 mm longer than the standard car, translating into noticeably more rear legroom. For the first time on a Land Rover, four-wheel steering is fitted, reducing the turning circle to 10.95 metres despite a total length of 5.25 metres. Independent air suspension with adaptive damping is standard.
Fun fact: the V8 in the P530 is the BMW N63, the same engine found in the BMW M550i and X5 M50i. Land Rover and BMW signed a powertrain partnership in 2019, and the Range Rover was the first Land Rover to use it.
