The Aston Martin DBS Superleggera carries two names with history. DBS first appeared in 1967, while Superleggera references Carrozzeria Touring, the Italian coachbuilder that worked with Aston Martin in the 1960s to produce some of their lightest cars. The 5.2 litre twin-turbo V12 produces 715 hp and 900 Nm to the rear wheels through an eight-speed automatic. The body is made entirely of carbon fibre panels on a bonded aluminium structure, making the car 72 kg lighter than the DB11 it is based on. The sprint from 0 to 100 km/h takes 3.4 seconds, with carbon ceramic brakes as standard.
Fun fact: the engine is mounted as low and as far back in the chassis as possible, resulting in a near perfect 50:50 weight distribution between front and rear.
