The Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG is a modern classic that clearly pays homage to the legendary 300 SL. Beneath its long bonnet lies a hand-built 6.2-litre V8 producing 563 hp, assembled in Affalterbach. The gullwing doors and low centre of gravity give it a character that’s both elegant and explosive. The V8’s sound is raw and authentic — one you never forget. A nice detail: it was the first AMG to be fully developed by Mercedes itself, from engine to chassis.
